Contractual Policies

It is important to know whether your employment policies are contractual – so that you know whether you and your employees are required to comply with any obligations in them.

The requirement to publish policies and ensure that they are followed consistently by managers can increase the chances that they will become contractual. The language used in a policy can, however, make a significant difference to whether or not it is or becomes contractual.
