Whistleblowing imam wins dismissal case
Yahya Barry, an imam who was dismissed by Edinburgh Central Mosque after raising concerns with respect to financial irregularities, was unfairly dismissed. An employment tribunal ruled that Mr Barry's concerns were "protected disclosures" and that the mosque had "reacted in an extraordinarily defensive way" when he persisted in raising matters with the management and the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).
