Universities found to have spent £87m on NDAs
Figures obtained by the BBC have revealed that 96 universities in the UK have spent about £87 million on 4,000 settlements including non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) since 2017, which lawyers warn are being misused to protect employers who could be guilty of misconduct. Universities UK, which represents 136 institutions, has stated that using NDAs to keep victims of bullying or discrimination quiet would not be tolerated.
