United Kingdom labour market enforcement strategy 2018/19: Government response

A Home Office and Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy documents sets out the Government's response to the first full strategy from the Director of Labour Market Enforcement, Sir David Metcalf, published in May 2018. The strategy made 37 recommendations on labour market enforcement, seven of which overlap with commitments in the Good Work Plan, including the enforcement of holiday pay and better protections for agency workers. The Government accepts the majority of the Director's recommendations and this response sets out the steps it will take forward on: raising awareness of employment rights; improving intelligence; and strengthening enforcement efforts.
