Tribunal rules that taxi drivers are entitled to employment rights
In a ruling likely to affect thousands of minicab drivers, the London Central Employment Tribunal has ruled that Addison Lee taxi drivers were workers and therefore entitled to rights such as holiday pay and the national minimum wage. The case was supported the GMB, which has backed similar claims by drivers for taxi firm Uber, and will have a further hearing in due course to calculate the holiday and pay that the drivers should receive.
