Striking out a claim as result of unreasonable conduct - Chidzoy v BBC [EAT] 05.04.18 (Unreported)

An employment tribunal did not err in striking out a journalist's claim against the BBC near the end of the hearing after she had participated in a conversation with another journalist about an aspect of her evidence during a break in the BBC's cross-examination of her. She had been warned not to discuss any aspect of the case while under oath and the tribunal correctly concluded that the unreasonable conduct and fundamental loss of trust meant that there was no alternative to striking out the claim.
