Scottish nationalism should be protected under equality laws, rules judge
Judge Frances Eccles has ruled that support for Scottish independence is a philosophical belief akin to a religion and should be protected under the Equality Act 2010. She made the ruling in a case brought by Scottish National Party group leader Chris McEleny who claims the Ministry of Defence, his employer, unfairly targeted him because of his support for independence. The case now goes to a full hearing.
