PSNI lose holiday pay case
In a landmark judgment, the Court of Appeal (CA) has dismissed the Police Service of Northern Ireland's bid to overturn a finding that its officers and civilian employees should be paid holiday pay dating back 20 years. Chief Constable George Hamilton had challenged an industrial tribunal's ruling that holiday pay had been incorrectly based on basic working hours, rather than actual hours worked including overtime. The police service now faces a £40 million bill.
