PM and DPM announce increase in the National Minimum Wage

The Government has announced that the national minimum wage adult rate will increase by three per cent to £6.70 per hour, effective from October 2015. The rate for 18 to 20 year olds will increase to £5.30, for 16 and 17 year olds to £3.87 and for apprentices to £3.30. A new digital apprenticeship voucher will be introduced, putting employers in control of funding for apprenticeships, and a consultation on the future of the NMW rate for apprentices will be launched.
