Newcastle upon Tyne NHS Foundation Trust v Haywood [CA] 17.03.17 (Unreported)

Where an employer posted a letter to an employee giving notice of the termination of his or her employment, then in the absence of an express contractual term specifying when the notice was to take effect, it would take effect from the date it was received by the employee in the sense of his or her having personally taken delivery of it.
