Law Society calls for inspectors to enforce workers' rights
In a submission to the independent review of employment practices led by Matthew Taylor, the Law Society has called for: government-backed inspectors to investigate companies and entire industries to prevent employers falsely labelling workers as self-employed; the end of employment tribunal fees, which have led to a 70% drop in claims in the last three years; and for every worker to receive a written clarification of their employment status.Link to FT: Law Society urges action on ‘gig economy’ workers
