Law firms accused of fudging pay gap reporting rules
Law firms have been criticised by the Treasury Committee for the way in which they interpreted gender pay gap reporting rules. It was suggested that firms used a loophole to report only on employed staff, excluding equity and salaried partners. Nicky Morgan, the Conservative chairwoman of the committee, said that whilst the firms had complied with the law with respect to supplying the data, they had not observed the spirit of the rules.
