Judgment in PPF compensation discrimination case - Hughes v Board of the Pension Protection Fund [QBD (Admin)] 22.06.20 (Unreported)
Provisions in the Pensions Act 2004 which capped the amount of compensation payable to members of occupational pension schemes by the Pension Protection Fund following their employer's insolvency were discriminatory on the grounds of age. The compensation cap was unlawful and would have to be disapplied.
