Government rejects ban on employers' sexist dress codes

Following a petition started by Nicola Thorp, who was dismissed as a receptionist after refusing to comply with a dress code at PWC, which called for a ban on dress codes requiring high heels, the Government has stated that it is to publish guidance on workplace dress codes, but will not implement legislation to allow women to seek higher compensation from employers, as the law in place is already "adequate".
