Gender Recognition: Written question - Gender Recognition: Written question - 123724

In response to a written question on whether an assessment has been made with respect to the findings in the Stonewall Report "LGBT in Britain: Trans Report", the Minister for Women and Equalities stated that: the Government Equalities Office has seen the report and is considering its findings: the report makes an important contribution to the evidence base on transgender equality; the report will be assessed in conjunction with the findings from the National LGBT survey; and a consultation will shortly be undertaken on amending the Gender Recognition Act 2004 in order to make the legal recognition process less bureaucratic and intrusive for trans people.
