Fathers to use or lose paternity leave

In the week commencing 14 August 2017, the Equality and Human Rights Commission is expected to state that men should be offered paternity leave on a "use it or lose it" basis, to ensure that they take off a substantial amount of time with their newborn. In order to address the gender pay gap, fathers will not be able to transfer this "ring fenced" period of leave to their partner.
