Employment tribunal fees cause decline in unfair dismissal claims
A study from the Trades Union Congress (TUC) has revealed that unfair dismissal claims have fallen by 73% and that since charges of up to £1,200 were introduced for employment tribunals, there have been huge reductions in discrimination cases on grounds of sex, race, and disability. TUC general secretary Frances O'Grady said that the figures illustrate that discrimination at work "can flourish unchecked and people can be sacked without good reason". She added that fees charged are pricing out thousands each month from pursuing cases.http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/business/news/unfair-dismissal-claims-slump-after-employment-tribunal-fees-introduced-35187111.html
