EAT decision re sex discrimination "exception" - Walker v Wallem Shipmanagement Ltd [EAT] 16.01.20 (Unreported)
The Equality Act 2010 (Work on Ships and Hovercraft) Regulations 2011 permitted an offshore employment service provider to discriminate on the ground of sex when recruiting personnel to serve on foreign registered ships sailing outside UK waters. The Equality Act 2010 s.81, which excluded ships and hovercraft from the application of Pt 5 of the Act, applied at the recruitment stage as well as to actual employment relationships.https://www.bailii.org/uk/cases/UKEAT/2020/0236_18_1601.html
