EAT decision re lay-off and short-time working periods - Craig v Bob Lindfield & Son Ltd. [EAT] 20.11.15 (Unreported)

Contracts of employment – Interpretation – Implied terms - Contracts permitting lay-off and short-time working periods – Whether implied term as to reasonableness of length of period – Whether constructive dismissal – Whether employee entitled to redundancy period. HELD that tribunals were not required to decide whether the length of such a period had been reasonable. Employee’s appeal refused.
