EAT decision re giving reasons for dismissal - Rawlinson v Brightside Group Ltd [EAT] 21.11.17 (Unreported)

At common law an employer had no duty to tell an employee of the reason for his dismissal. However, where the employer elected to give a reason, the implied term of trust and confidence required the employer not to mislead the employee.
