Delivery firm 'uses loophole to pay less than living wage'
The delivery company Hermes has been accused of paying its couriers less than the national living wage due to a legal loophole. The company classifies many of its drivers as being self-employed, paying them by the number of parcels they deliver rather than the hours they work, and excluding them from employee benefits such as holiday or sick pay, maternity leave or an occupational pension.Link to Lexis version
