Court of Appeal jusgment re appeal time limits - Rana v Ealing LBC [CA] 25.09.18 (Unreported)

The court interpreted the Employment Appeal Tribunal Rules 1993 r.3(3), which stated that the time limit for appealing from a decision of the employment tribunal was 42 days from the date of written reasons being "sent to the parties". A judgment was sent to the parties even where it had erroneously been sent to a party's former representative. There was an obvious practical advantage in having a single date from which time ran for both parties in a case.
