Corporation tax and grant of share options to employees - Revenue and Customs Commissioners v NCL Investments Ltd [CA] 21.05.20 (Unreported)
Where companies in a group sought to deduct from their corporation tax liability debits relating to the grant of share options to employees, those debits had been made in accordance with GAAP and were allowable expenses in calculating the profits of a trade, pursuant to the Corporation Tax Act 2009 s.54(1)(a). There was no need for any further examination of whether such debits were "expenses" for the purposes of that provision.https://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWCA/Civ/2020/663.html
