Companies will not have to put workers on boards.
Following opposition from business groups and the Treasury, Prime Minister Theresa May has backed away from forcing employers to put workers on their boards. The decision to have not only consumers represented on company boards but employees as well was said to risk "undermining effectiveness". A consultation, which could be published as early as the week commencing 14 November 2016, will seek to encourage rather than mandate workers' representation.Link to article
