CJEU judgment re remedies for disability discrimination - Arjona Camacho v Securitas Seguridad Espana S.A. (2015) (C-407/14) [ECJ] 03.09.15 (Unreported)

Reference for a preliminary ruling — Social policy — Directive 2006/54/EC — Equal treatment of men and women in matters of employment and occupation — Discriminatory dismissal — Article 18 — Compensation or reparation for the loss and damage actually sustained — Deterrent effect — Article 25 — Penalties — Punitive damages. HELD that Member States choosing to compensate victims of discrimination on grounds of sex financially must ensure that the person injured was paid compensation which covered in full the loss and damage sustained.
