Christian loses dismissal claim
Christian Dr David Mackereth, dismissed from his job as a disability assessor for the Department for Work and Pensions for refusing to call transgender people by their preferred title, has lost a claim for discrimination. He told an employment tribunal that he had suffered discrimination for his belief in Genesis 1:27. The tribunal said Christians should not be discriminated against for their beliefs, but that his views were "incompatible with human dignity and conflict with the rights of others, specifically, transgender individuals".
