Autumn Employment Seminars

As part of Brodies’ autumn 2012 seminar programme, we are running a series of free seminars at our offices in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow:

  • Employment – Adjustments and Equality – Making reasonable adjustments for disabled employees

Hayley Johnson will be discussing the difficult balancing act between reasonable adjustments, profitability and practicality. They will address some of the common issues and grey areas and provide the tips and know-how you need to ensure you are making informed, legally sound decisions. With a specific focus on mental health issues and stress-related conditions they will ensure that the legal solutions are put in the context of the latest occupational health developments in mental health issues in the workplace.

  • Without Prejudice or Protected

Paul McMahon and Anna Walker will talk about how to have “that” conversation.

While many employee issues can be resolved through the full HR process, there are occasions when you might want to resolve an issue in a quick and informal manner.

Following high profile proposals from the coalition government, this practical session is designed to equip you to coach managers through “that” conversation. Topics covered will include what you can and can’t say and how to pitch any exit deal. You will be given a mini toolkit to help you and your managers deal with this all too familiar situation.
