Application for extension of time for the filing of a late appeal - Green v Mears Ltd [CA] 17.04.18 (Unreported)

The EAT was not obliged to follow the approach in Mitchell v News Group Newspapers Ltd [2013] EWCA Civ 1537, [2014] 1 W.L.R. 795, [2014] C.L.Y. 445 and Denton v TH White Ltd [2014] EWCA Civ 906, [2014] 1 W.L.R. 3926, [2014] C.L.Y. 454 when considering whether to grant an extension of time for the filing of a late appeal. Three decisions of the instant court had upheld the lawfulness of the guidance in United Arab Emirates v Abdelghafar [1995] I.C.R. 65, [1995] C.L.Y. 1988 on the correct principles to apply.
