Another legacy of the Olympic Games – flexible working?

Research by the Institute of Leadership Management has found that many employers in and around London plan to continue with flexible working practices put into place to deal with the Olympic Games – even now that the Games are finished. 43% of businesses who used flexible working arrangements plan to carry on with them, and 67% of managers found that the Games were a powerful bonding experience for staff. Contrary to Boris Johnson’s prediction, 76% found that the Olympic Games were not a “skiver’s paradise”.

It will be interesting to see if the memories of how employers dealt with the Olympic Games in London continue to provide a catalyst for businesses to consider their flexible working offering.
