Next Steps after a Resignation

An employee will usually send their notice of resignation to their line manager who should pass it to HR and payroll. The line manager should have a discussion with the employee to find out why they are resigning and to discuss the exit arrangements and provide information on their final salary, benefits, holidays etc. Confirm this in writing. Remind the employee of their obligations to you while they remain an employee and afterwards e.g. confidentiality, restrictive covenants.
