Pay during the notice period
Unless you choose to make a payment in lieu of notice, you must pay an employee their normal rate of pay and benefits during the notice period. If the employee is put on garden leave check whether the contract provides for basic pay only or pay and benefits. There are special rules for employees on sick leave and family friendly leave.
