During Maternity Leave: T's and C's

An employee’s contract of employment continues during maternity leave unless she is dismissed or resigns. This means that she should continue to receive certain benefits during maternity leave and she will continue to accrue statutory and contractual holidays. Whether an employee on maternity leave is entitled to a bonus or commission will depend on a number of factors, but you should not withhold a pay rise just because an employee is pregnant or on maternity leave. Depending on the timing, a pay rise may mean you need to recalculate statutory maternity pay.
