Maternity Leave: Entitlement

Statutory maternity leave is available to all employees, provided they comply with certain notice requirements. As an employer, you must give an employee notice of her maternity end date and must remember to update this if the start date for maternity leave changes. You should consider at an early stage what practical preparations you need to make for an employee’s maternity leave, including how you will cover the absence, what contact you will have with the employee during her leave and when she will use her holiday entitlement.
