Parental Leave: Keeping Records
There is no specific requirement for you to keep records of the amount of parental leave taken by employees, but it would of course make sense to do so. You may find it difficult to confirm how much parental leave an employee has taken with a previous employer, as a former employer may have no record of this, and is not obliged to pass on any information it does have. If you are asked about the amount of parental leave taken by one of your former employees and you are prepared to share this information, make sure you have the former employee’s consent before disclosing it.
