Statutory Trade Union Recognition

You can be required to recognise a trade union for collective bargaining on pay, hours and holidays. There are detailed rules governing the compulsory recognition process. It is governed by the Central Arbitration Committee.

After a trade union is declared to be recognised by the CAC, the recognition agreement will remain in place for three years.
