Performance Management Warnings

In most cases, the first step in a performance management process is to issue the employee with a warning. For this to be effective, it is important to set realistic targets within an agreed timescale.

You should take into account any live warnings on an employee’s file but in most cases will need to ignore any expired warnings.

Meet with the employee at the end of the period to review their performance. If it has not improved it may be necessary to issue another warning or to consider dismissal.
