Performance Dismissals

Usually it will only be appropriate to dismiss for underperformance if a final warning has been issued. A dismissal should only ever follow a formal meeting. The employee must be fully aware in advance of the issues you have with their performance and that one of the possible outcomes of the meeting is dismissal. The employee should be informed of the decision to dismiss in writing and given a right of appeal.
