Pressure from a third-party, such as a client or customer, to dismiss an employee can amount to ‘some other substantial reason’ justifying the employee’s dismissal. However, even if you have this potentially fair reason for dismissal, you still need to follow a fair procedure and act reasonably overall to avoid a claim of unfair dismissal.
